In Russia, the same trafic rules, as in Europe. But something you better to know.

In Russia, a very cold climate, snow on the road can lie to 9 months a year, so many car drivers are not used to bicycles. Moreover, they do not even know where the bicycles should go by the rules of the road. Many of them believe that the bicycle should ride on the sidewalk, and not on the road, although the rules and laws say that a bicycle is the same vehicle and if he can go on the road, then he must go there.

Many drivers are simply not used to bicycles and motorcycles on the roads, so they simply do not notice.

For your safety, I would recommend, if possible, ride on the sidewalks. In this case, you must give way to people and do not interfere with them. Remember that on the sidewalks the people are the main ones.

There are areas where bicycles are forbidden to use, for example, Red Square. In this case, you must get off the bicycle and carry it near. These zones are marked by special signs (although in addition to the Red Square, I can not remember anything more)

If you cross the road on a pedestrian crossing with a bicycle, then according to the rules, for your safety you also need to get down from it.

In cities there are special bike paths that are marked with a blue sign, but remember that many of them have a dual purpose – if there is no sidewalk nearby, according to the rules, pedestrians can also walk along the bicycle paths and be careful with them.
In Russia there is no culture of riding on bicycle paths, as for example in Germany – many pedestrians simply do not know that they can not walk on bicycle paths.

Briefly, it is better for you to give way to everything that moves and does not go very quickly. On the other hand in Moscow very wide sidewalks and spaces are enough for everyone.
